Over the River
Eastbound and Down
First time heading east since I've been on this journey.
At Zion's Gate
Barely able to stay awake, I arrive at the threshold of Zion National Park.
The Pen is Mightier
One of my single most important pieces of gear.
The Zion Cathedral
The might stone giants that welcome all visitors to Zion National Park.
Has any living person been to the top of these gateway giants?
Protected from the unexpected desert cold by my Grandpa's sweater.
Snow? In the desert? Well I must admit this was an unexpected surprise.
I could not get over my shock to see snow...in the desert...in October!
More Like It
Now THIS I expected to see.
I'm not sure who this Kolob character is but he sure knows how to throw a welcoming party.
Ghostly Rock Wall
It really felt like I was walking into a stone fortress.
The stone walls were a visual commanding red but the flora belonged to the greens.
This bark was soft and furry as you can see. Not a bad option for bedding.
Its true what they say. Every rose does have its thorn.
The sun dances through the mountains.
