Towards Canada I drove into the beast of Wrangell - St. Elias National Park
No horizon can equal that of eastern Alaska in terms of vastness.
The mountain landscape stretched its arms out endlessly
The mountains would disappear only when the forest grew too tall. Even then, windows into the mountains would showcase this country's summits.
Anyone crazy enough to ski down those slopes?
Snow capped mountains when I look south and rusty mountains when looking north
Has anyone ever summitted this mountain? I don't know it by name but surely someone has bagged it.
Greens, oranges, and greys make up the cascade of colors as your eye moves up the mountain.
Surely two Hobbits were spotted headed that way towards Mordor...
So few people make this journey, its a shame this beauty is often left unnoticed.
The many arms of this wild weed
Only in Alaska can you get views like this from the side of the road
Was I approaching Heaven or Wrangell - St. Elias National Park?
The view from the side of the road during an emergency bathroom break
The sparce forests of the subalpine tundra. Beauty in its scrawniness. The forests were dwarfed by the mountains.
No one could tell I was a non-Alaskan native.
