Staging Area
Inside the waiting room for the MV Kennicott...again.
The Grey Mile
The long walk back to the ship that I once called home.
The Green Mile
First view from the port side of the MV Kennicott
Emerald Seas
Despite the clouds it was a beautiful day to start our southbound voyage!
Cloud Mound
I'm sure the boat has cloud penetrating radar...right?!
Meet Janet and Groll
Remember Janet from the Homer Spit...well there she is with the back of Grohl's head. No relation to Dave of Foo Fighter fame. More on these two later...
Whale Mist
Its hard to tell but if you look close enough you can see the misty spray from Moby...errr I mean that random whale.
Meet Matt
Matt, our resident guitar player, was guiding us through the streets of Juneau where our objective was to take a shot (Jamesons was my poison of choice) at every bar we passed.
Groll and I
Groll and I waiting on one of the many crowded street corners of Juneau. To say this town was a tourist trap would be a wild understatement.
Play It Again, Sam
Matt was never too far from his guitar. In between bouts of writing I would wander through the ships rooms and sure enough Matt and the gang would be there without fail.
Sapphire Nights
Emerald days and sapphire nights. Just more evidence that Alaska is the crowned jewel of the US!
Quiet Wake
We were a massive ferry in a massive landscape yet the silence was more pronounced than both
NORTHERN LIGHTS
I was in my "bed" when Sean woke me up and told me to rush to the back of the ship. He told me the Northern Lights were out. Without putting any clothes on I jumped out of my sleeping bag and ran to the back! Dream come true!
Lights of the North
Captionless
Northern Lightning?
Not the best showing of the lights but hey it counts!
Electrolights
Northern Electric Light Orchestra
Ketchikan Saloon
More Jamesons? Yup! Had to warm up that deep Alaskan chill!
Whats Wrong Here?
It doesn't take a detective to spot whats off with this one.
Land Ho!
I and the rest of the stomach-turned passengers were happy to be back in the calm waters of the Inside Passage
Swedish Fish
Blonde and blue eyes...I was NOT surprised when they opened up with a Swedish accent. They called me Jack London...which I appreciated.
The Tail
Proof that the pony tail was starting to pop up
Future Mike?
I'm not convinced that this ISN"T me from the future. He passed on plenty of sage wisdom as he appeared randomly throughout the ship.
Meet Sean and Leighann
Leighann was our resident hula-hoop expert, Sean was a zombie...errr. Oh and the guy in the background gave me some of the best Salmon I have ever tried. Sorry Dave.
